The Monroe County / Toledo North KOA is pleased to provide an update on our ongoing campground improvements, which began last fall. The initial phase of construction has led to significant progress on the project.
The campground is currently in the final stages of the permitting process for two new pools and a new concession building with the Planning Commission in Summerfield Township. Once permits have been secured, construction will begin on the concession building, followed by the pools and then the splash pad area.
The bases have been completed for all the new amenities, which required moving sand from the construction area and bringing in roughly 60,000 tons of engineered fill. The fill was routinely packed to provide a solid foundation for the new construction. Drain tile, which leads to de-watering pumps, has been installed throughout the pad to keep the ground in the area dry.
Pending the construction permits, utility power will be run along with plumbing to connect the concession building to the pool. Once construction starts on the pools, they will be dug out from the base and tied into the plumbing from the building. Finally, the actual concessions and bike and boat area will be completed.

The campground is currently taking reservations for the 2025 season, offering guests the opportunity to experience these exciting new amenities for themselves in the near future.
